This year’s red carpet makeup look is all about dramatic eye makeup looks, simple supple lips, and long loose curls. These Celebrity beauty looks are timeless capturing the essence of Old Hollywood glamour. A trend we are still seeing today, especially on the Red Carpet, is deep dramatic eyes. Accompanying this look is bronzed skin and supple lips to create the ultimate stunning appearance.

Actress Sandra Bullock and celebrity makeup artist Angela Levin, provide an inside look at Sandra’s beautiful Red Carpet beauty. Levin says, “When I walked into Sandra’s room, I saw that she was in an incredibly relaxed, happy and free spirited mood. I wanted her makeup to reflect her serene state of mind!” Sandra’s look is captivating, bold yet feminine, and flawless to say the least. Although her natural beauty shines through her presence, this extra added glamour makes her that much more dazzling.

Makeup application Tip:

Before applying makeup it is extremely important to prepare your skin. This is an important step when applying makeup for any occasion because your skin is the base for your entire look. Take the time to cleanse your skin and apply moisturizer.

Along with Sandra, Kate Hudson is also a starlet known for stunning eyes and overall glam. Kate is one female that really knows how to release her inner diva. Her flawless skin and gorgeous eyes only adds to her flirty, fun charisma.

Kate Hudson’s makeup artist, Leslie Lopez, focuses on shimmering shades for this look for the Golden Globes. Beautiful shimmering shades of silver and white dust over Kate’s alluring eyes. Her lips were highlighted with a golden peach color for a youthful, supple look.

Beauty Inspiration:

Kate Hudson’s makeup artist, Leslie Lopez stated, “Golden Globes makeup is all about the dress. When I saw Kate in her gorgeous white dress, I knew we had to go for a clean, sophisticated, pretty look – very Grace Kelly.

Want Kate’s stunning beauty? Here are some of the products used to create her look.

Bold and Beautiful Lips

A girl can never go wrong with sexy, bold colored lips. Keeping the eyes simple and sheer, vamp up your lip color just like Mad Men’s, Christina Hendricks. Her eyes were swept very delicately with sheer luminous colors to add depth as well as an added touch of femininity.

Flickr User: Capital M

Beauty Inspiration:

Christina Hendricks’ makeup artist, Vanessa Scali commented, “Effortless and chic: sheer satin eyes, pink milk-maid cheeks and a siren mouth. Christina’s dress has a sexy, yet soft look. We mirrored this with her makeup. I love the contrast of the angelic, innocent face with the sexy edge of a strong mouth.”

You can find more red lipstick tips and how to pick the right shade of red lipstick by experimenting or checking out our other amazing tips. For a red, sultry, sexy lip Glo Minerals Lipsheer in Bali does the trick.

Beauty makeup for 2010 is all about the dramatic and captivating eye and making it look effortless. Another hot trend we are seeing, especially on the Red Carpet is highlighting the inside corners as well as the brow bone for an added chic shimmer. Lips are currently kept within a natural or peach shade yet supple. However, the bold red lip never goes out of a style and is the perfect look for such a special evening of beauty. See you at the Oscars!

I can say that i speak for everyone when I say that we’ve all been waiting for this movie to come out and March 5th can’t come soon enough. Thankfully, we’ve been lucky enough to see sneak peeks and explore the beauty looks of the characters. Not only have we seen the incredible makeup from the movie, but brands have taken the initiative to launch Alice In Wonderland inspired cosmetics. One look that stood out other than the Mad Hatter was the White Queen. Taking a snap shot from the movie, here’s some beauty tips to getting that luxurious looking grin.

This look is probably the easiest to translate into real life. Anne Hathaway’s character, the White Queen has a very pale, sweet but dark look. Her makeup was done by veteran and master makeup artist Valli O’Reily and inspired by Victorian culture and icons. The one thing that stands out the most are her blood red lips. You can translate this beauty trend into an everyday look but just complementing that one feature: your lips. The easy way to get those dark, voluptuous lips, are to use a dark red lip liner. 3 Custom Color Specialists’ Marry Me Lip liner set in Cool does the trick. It comes with a lip and cheek stain which is perfect for long lasting color, a lip liner and a lip gloss so you’re getting an added bonus by buying all three. To apply the look, you can either use just the lip liner or just the lip and cheek stain. If you’d like a glossy look, you can go with a combination of all three or just use the gloss. Using the lip liner, line the edges of your lips starting from the middle. Color in those lips! You can also use a fatter lip pencil like Fusion Beauty’s LipFusion Lip Plumping Pencil in Nude to get that perfect plum red.

Beauty Tip: If you’re worried about feathering, you can use an anti-feathering lip penc il. It also helps keep the color and you can draw outside of your lip line if you prefer.

To finish the look, you can choose to line your eyelid with a thin line using a black eyeliner. Follow up with mascara and some powder and VIOLA! you’re all set to go! You’ll definitely be turning heads with a gorgeous dark pout. Take that Red Queen, how many people will you have mimicking your blue eye shadow?

When the world economy is looking gray, bold makeup comes out to play! Thanks to fresh, vibrant colors, beauty was the star at the spring runway shows. It can be expensive to update your wardrobe, but adding a few new products to your makeup bag, well, that’s no problem! The spring runways were abundant in gorgeous color. Here are some of my favorite makeup trends paired with a beauty products so you can create the look yourself!

Source: Allure

TREND: Bright-Eyed Beauty
SEEN AT: Christian Dior, Michael Kors and Versace
Go for a flash of color with violet or turquoise eyeshadows for a super fresh look this spring. It’s a really fun and easy way to add color without looking like you are trying too hard. Get more bang for your buck with an eyeshadow palette—this way you can create lots of different looks without having to make more product purchases. Pastels were all the rage; my favorite looks were powerful in purple or playful in a shimmering turquoise shade. This makeup trend is super easy to do yourself, but if it feels too bold, play it down and just line your lower lash line. Add a little water to a brow or eyeliner brush before dipping it in your eyeshadow you and are on your way to some subtle, yet very sexy color.

Source: style.com

TREND: Powerful Pouts
SEEN AT: Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior and Prada
Lips received a jolt of electricity this season with the makeup trend focusing on variations of red. At Prada, models popped with a high-shine, blood-orange mouth that oozed sex and innocence while the models at Dolce & Gabbana seduced in a rich red lipstick created by makeup artist Pat McGrath using 3 of D&G’s lipsticks. Go D&G style by creating your own shade of a sexy red to seduce in or if you prefer lips with a citrus twist try 3 Custom Color Specialists Lip Gloss in Mango.

You still have time to ring in the New Year in style with a little bit of fashion advice and beauty tips from yours truly. I’m all about sparkle, especially diamonds and sequins, but there is an appropriate time and place to sparkle and New Year’s Eve is definitely one of those times! In addition to timing and place, there is an appropriate way to wear sequins. Don’t wear head-to-toe sequins—break it up with a solid color.

A loose, white blouse is perfection with sequined pants! The entire look costs under $100! Just throw on a pair of black pumps (open-toe or closed, that’s your decision) and I officially give you permission to leave the house!

An outfit like this doesn’t need much makeup. I’m all about the cat eye right now—it’s one of my favorite makeup trends because it’s edgy, but pretty and oh so sexy! I just bought this eyeliner from Hourglass; I’ve only used it once, but I really liked it! It was easy to use, even with my shaky hands, and helped create a fluid line. However, if you like color you could totally rock this ensemble with some bright eyeliner or create smoky eyes with plum eyeshadows (something a little different). Just make sure you apply LOTS of mascara to complete the look!

Calling all men! Are you ready to put down your typical grooming tools and trade them for makeup brushes? Believe it or not, this makeup trend (or is it?) is making headlines. According to the buzz out there, men are the next buyers of makeup. Here is the scoop and my history with this hot trend:

Not just for Actors: Foundation and Cover-up

I learned this one first hand while I was carpooling with my best guy friend in high school. On the way to class he pulled out a bottle of Cover Girl I couldn’t’ believe it! I asked him flat out. What are you doing? His reply, I don’t want people to see my breakouts! Seriously, it was a relief to learn that some men cared just as much as the rest of us about these things.

Later, when I moved to LA, it was only re-confirmed when I started working as a makeup artist that my BF wasn’t the only one. There are more than a few men out there that truly care deeply about presenting a flawless face via cover-up and foundation. Cheers to them to taking on a task we women know all about!

True Trendsetters: Artistic

While working as a makeup artist, I got to see those rarest of the rare that went beyond just the basics. Some wanted a perfect pout with clear gloss while others wanted to enhance their close-set eyes. Well, it seems that the trend is on the move again. Check out Happi’s article for in-depth report. Ponder this too: Maybe when Carly Simon said you’re so vain she was referring to the man in question wearing makeup and not just love. Wouldn’t that stir a scene!

Ready or not neon eye shadow is making its debut this coming spring as Fashion’s new makeup trend. Vibrant pops of color were visible at this year’s Fashion Week 2010 event with Gwen Stefani’s bright blue eyeliner that she wore during the launch of L.A.M.B.’s Spring Collection. To get a head start on Spring’s new look try these palettes below. They’ll have you fashion ready in no time.

Beginner’s Secret weapon: Pop Beauty’s Lid Neon

This palette is perfect not only because it has all the shades needed to pull off this hot trend but it comes with the necessary How-To steps on the inside of the palette. It explains step-by-step on how to get a variety of looks with these 6 gorgeous colors.

Makeup Maven’s must have palette: Too Faced Cosmetics – Liquif-Eye Set

If you know how to work those makeup brushes, then this palette is for you – 12 dazzling colors and a bottle of Too Faced’s Liquif-Eye. This magic potion turns any of those 12 colors into eye liner and prevents creasing. Now that’s taking your makeup to the next level! Plus the electric blue shadow, Exclusive, will have you turning heads like Gwen during her Fashion week extravaganza.

OK, I know it is just starting to get chilly out, but the Spring ‘10 collections have made their debut at Fashion Week and so have the makeup trends. Although spring is a ways away, what kind of beauty editor would I be if I didn’t give you at least a little sneak peek of the upcoming makeup trends:

LOUD MOUTH: Bold lips will continue to rule through spring. At Jason Wu, models walked the runway wearing a range of dark lips: some girls strutted in a shade of wine and dazzled in blood red while others pouted in a dark plum shade.

Flickr User: Bitchbuzz

BOW DOWN: I’m partial to this trend because I wore bows all throughout high school and college (trust me, I looked good, think Blair Waldorf). I didn’t wear my bows like this (trust me, I looked good), but I’m still giving myself props after seeing the models at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Luella sashay down the catwalk with big bows in their hair!
Get The Look: Style.com shows you how to make your own bow!

After sorting through fall’s major makeup trends I thought I’d be ambitious and try out some of my favorites! Some looked surprisingly good while others didn’t go over so well (glittery lids, sorry, just not for me!). Here are a few makeup trends that passed my test, but if there is one that you love that isn’t on this list, make sure to try and report back to let me know how it tested!

TREND: DARK LIPS – This trend intimidated me at first, but once I found a shade that worked for me (I went with a dark berry lip gloss) I didn’t like leaving the house without my mouth on. My boyfriend isn’t a huge fan of the look, but all my gal pals love the look! Boys, what do they know about makeup trends anyways…

ADVICE: Go with a lip gloss or lipstick shade that looks good on you (not on the models) and what you feel comfortable wearing. Starting with a lip gloss helped me ease into my new, provocative pout, but my eyes have been wandering towards the lipstick section when I’m at the beauty counter. Don’t put on any blush when you wear dark lips.

TREND: FLUSHED PINK—Yes! Anyone who knows me knows I’m all about blush…bright pink blush! So I want word to get around that bright cheeks are in style! We saw this on the runways at Anna Sui, DKNY, Stella McCartney and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
ADVICE: The look on the catwalk was pink blush high on the cheekbones instead of on the apples for a more chic flush. Make sure you blend the blush!

TREND: WAVES –Since the makeup on the runways made such a bold statement on its own, tousled hair kept the whole look from becoming overdone. I’m partial to this trend because I have naturally messy/wavy hair, but I love it because it keeps me looking casual, never like I’m trying to look good even though I am!
ADVICE: Whether you want to give your natural waves a boost or you want to go from straight to sassy just wrap sections of your hair (about an inch) around a large-barrel curling iron and hold for about 30 seconds then release. Repeat all over, then once curls have cooled lightly brush through them.
