Bronzed and Confused

how-to-apply-makeupDo you ever see girls with so much bronzer that you think ooompa loompa instead of ooh la la? Or worse…are YOU one of these girls? I admit, I can find humor in the occasional bronzing blunder (as long as it’s not my face!), but most of the time it makes me feel sad. Then I wonder…do you a) Apply bronzer in the dark; b) Stay away from mirrors; c) Tend to hang out with untrustworthy “friends”; d) All of the above. So I dedicate this post to YOU, my blind bronzing beauties.  Makeup artist Noel Nichols taught me some simple beauty tips for a gorgeous glow. See for yourself how easy it is to apply bronzer properly.

HOW-TO APPLY BRONZER
Step 1: With a large, fluffy brush, pick up the color and tap off the brush to remove any excess bronzer—using a large brush and tapping it helps diffuse the color so you don’t look like George Hamilton.

Step 2: The key is to make this look natural, so you want to lightly apply bronzer to the areas where the sun naturally hits the face—which is why Noel’s “shape of a 3 guidelines” are helpful. Start at the top of the forehead (this is where you get the most sun), around the cheekbone and finish at the jaw line.  You don’t need to pick up anymore powder until you are ready to repeat this step on the other side of your face. Add a little bit to your nose and chin.bronze 3
