Beauty Resolution: Get Gorgeous Hair

One of my New Years beauty resolutions is to focus on hair care and treat my over-stressed locks to some much-needed hair-care treatments on a weekly basis. Here’s why: I looked at my hair in the work restroom recently and slightly shuttered at the dull strands staring back at me under the fluorescent lights.  (I spend too much time and money on my hair color to let it get this way!) So I put on my horn-rimmed glasses and did some research on hair products that could bring some life back to my winter-weary tresses.

The Kronos Phyx Overnight Masque is perfect for nourishing my hair while I sleep. (Frankly, I don’t always have time to stand in the shower for 15 minutes to get the full benefit from other masks so I like to sleep in one when I can.)

When I do have a bit more time in the shower, I’m going to use the Fekkai Protein RX Anti-Breakage Treatment Mask, which was created for damaged and dry hair. It’s amazing how quickly this mask can revitalize hair and it makes it amazingly shiny. While I’m letting the mask sit, it’s the perfect time to shave my legs, remove my toe nail polish and exfoliate my skin.

The result from using masks is almost immediately noticeable – my hair looks shiny and revitalized, and that makes me a happy gal.

I hear-by declare that I will use a mask at least once a week. (Note that I’m not making weight loss promises or non-drinking epithets that I can’t keep! This is one resolution I know I can actually stick to!)

I found a “mud-mask” that you could leave on for about the same amount of time as a regular conditioner about 6 years ago. It was very affordable and really worked wonders on my naturally wavy, color-treated, over-stressed tresses almost immediately. It was by Aussie …you could pick it up @ any retail store w/a “hair/beauty department…..I simply Loved it!!! However I guess I was one of very few because I haven’t been able to find it for years and believe me,I’ve searched high &low. I think they stopped making it …..but,should you run across it Try it!! You won’t be disappointed. I mean,it isn’t Kronos but it works quite well especially on a tight budget!! Which brings me to my next point. I use Kronos nowand the overnight phyx masque is worth every penny. In fact I use the whole line and have managed to stretch it so that my budget can bear it!!! (excluding styling products such as hairspray, gel, mousse &/or pomade because I don’t use anything like that on my hair for any reason. My hair thanks me for it,too!
